maejohns.com is the homepage of mark johnson, a native hoosier
transplanted to silicon valley, california, then to St. Louis,
and soon back to silicon valley.
though his experiences in industry, academics and athletics are broad, mark's primary interest lies in utilizing mathematical methods for extracting and utilizing information buried in large amounts of data. formally trained as a ph.d. in applied and computational mathematics at princeton university, mark also holds degrees in pure mathematics and in computer science from indiana university. drawing from his experiences in modeling the human immune system, online dynamic marketplaces, major league baseball or the seemingly chaotic dance of a flickering flame, mark brings many angles of scientific thought to his work. his experiences as a four-year student manager of the indiana university men's basketball team under coach bob knight (1988-1992) prove mark's ability and experience to be a team player. his successes as a long-distance triathlete (u.s. national team), runner and bike racer demonstrate his ability to latch onto a goal and to pursue it independently to the highest level. mark is constantly looking for interesting challenges that can utilize his broad range of talents. take a look at his resume! |
